•  Recipients of the Good Samaritan Fund assistance are Pinecrest residents who have outlived their personal financial resources

  • Currently, 51% of our resident population receives financial assistance from the Good Samaritan Fund.

  • The charitable car
e given by Pinecrest each year is approximately $1.7 million

  •
No resident of Pinecrest ever has been denied the same dedicated care given to those who can meet their own financial obligations, but Pinecrest must find ways to meet the cost of care for all residents

Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan to illustrate how to be a good neighbor.  This is the purpose of the Good Samaritan Fund at Pinecrest Manor and Terrace — to be supportive of someone who can give nothing in return.

At any stage of life we have needs — including those that are physical, emotional, social, spiritual and financial.  Too often these needs become more critical late in life when we must count on help from others to meet them.

Ministering to the needs of its residents is the mission of Pinecrest Manor and Terrace.  All of it resources, human and material, are dedicated to this mission.  At the September, 1988 meeting of the Illinois and Wisconsin District, Church of the Brethren, a resolution was passed urging the congregations to support the Good Samaritan Fund.  Since then individuals and congregations within the Church have responded.  Contributions also have come from other resident-affiliated congregations.
